Looks solid too me. Try standing on it with a friend, if it wiggles it aint solid. Ive seen some pretty hillbilly stands before but ud be suprised as the worst can sometimes be the most solid.

Yeah idk what that "brace" is about. Theres no need for it, it's seriously like a few mm thick. lolI had the same stand , the thing that worried me was the brace in the midddle. It looked to be 2mm plywood that could be bent using your pinky ! I sold mine (let somebody else deal with it) and used the money to make my own.....that way i knew it was safe and new![]()
Where would you add the screws? Agreed a few 2x4's on the back would be good.I would add nails/screws to it and reenforce with some 2*4's
Thanks...makes sense. The staples are hold the 1x4's on...
You mean like on the bottom of the tank? So the tank would sit on a piece of plywood.i would add ply wood to the top as well.
Screw definitely. That is a beefy stand compared to the particle board piece of junk factory stand under my 110g tank!
I would just add some some screws to reenforce the staples.
I would add supports to the stand. Beef it up to built your confidence in it.
Thanksyour 180's loaded are at the 4 corners of the stand. if you don't trust it just add reinforce 2x4" to the 4 corner of the stand.. other areas are fine.. i have the same stand as you for my 180.. if you call up any aquarium manufacturer they will tell you that the load bearing of your tank are the 4 corners of the tank.. so just support the corners to be safe and sound.. in flat bottom tank (just glass bottom) then reinforce with plywood.. but in your case 4 corners are sufficent.. FYI the stand is design for that tank and 220gal...
