that's pretty bad ass, my armatus use to do that too with smelts, since my move, it hasn't eaten at all! not even jumbotron feeders! he'll charge at it, then turn away, its been about 40 days since he's eaten, doesn't look too skinny, but i'm almost getting a bit worried. the water is perfect, and he's looking good otherwise.

It was actually really easy to get him on it. He ate it on the first try after 4days of starvation!

Like I said it was much easier then I thought. Just four days of starvation, a shrimp tied to a fishing pole (fed that way the first couple times) then viola...armatus on shrimp!
Im hoping to try some other foods like whole fresh smelt, catfish fillets, clams, ect. I do stuff the shrimp with a high quality pellet so it should be good nutrition in its self.
