Have you check your water parameters? How big is your tank? When aro does that, it means his stressed out. Never see my aros do that. They are in constant motion. If they rest, they rest on top and not at the bottom.

Water change was 25% less than 12 hrs. prior to that picture...
Ammonia,Nitrites=0, Nitrates are less than 5ppm
150 gallon kept at 79-84f...at time of pic tank temp was 80f

I've been watching him closely and all seems fine with behavior.
I have never seen my ARO's in the bottom of my tank like him.
He is curious about all water levels.

My old Jardini use to do that After i fed him that was the only time he would slack off!! I think it was to much food!! My water parameters were fine also!! Just like people it takes all kinds of people to make the world go round!!

both of my aro in different tanks also did that, i thought they were sleeping?
btw, all of my goldfishs also do that, but i read somewhere that goldfish need no sleeping?
not sure now...

looks like hes just chillen

yeah sometimes when he gets nervious my arrow will hang out at the bottom of the tank or tuck himself into the plants. nothing to worry about. He may also be resting. they gotta stop swimming sometimes.

The only water animal that does not sleep as far as I know is most sharks because they need to keep moving to breath.

My 16" aro has only parked on the bottom once and it was after him being overfed. He actually sat there for a good 5-10 minutes. This was right before I went to bed. I turned off all the lights and actually when I woke up in the morning I felt there was some chance I would come down and he would be dead but he was up cruisin around.

well i would say its not normal
