Does your LFS offer refunds?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
when i first started up my very first fish tank i didnt know i was suppose to cycle it, so i bought fish the day after i set it up, it was just one dwarf gourami and it died within an hour of entering the tank. i brought it in with a sample of my friends water from his tank and got credit lol i feel bad for that one now but at the time it worked out well. ive come a long way since then though

My first "tank" was... wait for it... wait fir it... a Betta in a plastic barely one gallon bowl... I got him into a ten gallon the next day. Cuz I went home and wanted to find out "everything I could" about my new friend. And ended up with an expensive flower vase out of the bowl. SO at least he only suffered for 36 hours till the pet store opened and I went and got a 40 dollar 10 gallon kit and heater. Boy did he get so much more active.

My lfs store does give refunds, but they require a water test.

Twins: 1 day.
Carters: 14 days with receipt.
Randy's: 1 year if you still have the receipt.

Old LFS I used to go to had a 24 hour policy. The LFS in town lets you return fish with the same 24 hour policy. I have done it twice maybe, but they let you do an exchange or get a credit.

Walmart gives 90 DAYS with sales receipt. *This is only a good thing if you have a gold fish that keeps dieing and you want to keep replacing it for your child so they don't know it died!! Lfs has no guarantee,:D because all fish are very healthy. PetSmart - depends on price and size of fish. Petco is 2 weeks, that only started in February. Before then, it was only 72 hrs.

our petco is 30 days but here's the deal, their fish suck soooo bad that you'd be a fool to buy one from them also every other week they have signs on a whole section of tanks that the fish have ick or are sick. I'll go in there to buy crickets or some quick supplies but that's it, I can't even look at the fish, it's sad.
