Does your TSN runs back and forth hitting the glass ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah they don't get any less timid really. Mine used to do that when the peacock bass were feeding, it startled him when they would hit food at the surface and it would freak out and fly across the 240. He is a little calmer in the pond with the other big shovelnose and alot more space but still spazzes out sometimes and makes a lap around it but not like the planiceps freaks out. How are the ornate and the irwini doing? ~Trent

Irwini is doing great. The ornate died, at first he wouldn't eat anything, I tried food sticks, hikari massivore, hikari cichlid gold, market prawn, beef heart, silverside, squid and etc. In the last 2-3 days before I found him dead, he finally was willing to eat a market shrimp.

Then I found him dead 2 days after for no apparent reason. He wasn't picked on by anything.

He didn't start eating until about 1 month or longer before he was willing to eat.

Stan- sorry that the ornate didn't make it, he was feeding on frozen blood worms and the occasional feeder he got a hold of. Glad to hear the irwinin is doing well, how big is it now?

my tsn freaks out when i change the water. of course all fish are freaked but he is especially freaked. yesterday when i did a change he hit himself so hard against the side of the tank that his nose bent up a lil bit and he looked like he had a bloody lip... looks wierd. ill try to get a pic of it

Our was a lot more skittish before we moved him in with Lucy the 20" RTC. That seemed to calm him down quite a bit. He's even taking food from my fingers.
