As you all know my moms lab/rot/chow (mut) died about a week back "r.i.p". Well my dad has his lab/chow, my mom had her lab/rot, and they wont let me have my turn to pick a dog. I would love to have a baby pit, or huskie but they say I wont take care of it... If they would just stop and think for a second how much it takes to keep up with 7 tanks, they would understand I could take care of a dog.. Does anyone know how I could talk them into letting me get a dog of my choice. They found a baby lab and want that, but we have had 2 labs already why keep it so simple and not mix it up for a change?

Dogfish?
What do YOU want?

Dog's are different from fish. Fish are way easier to ignore and don't poop on your carpet when you don't have time for them.

That being said. I don't know. Do a good deed or prove to them that you're deserving of a dog. Also make sure this lines up with your future plans. IE if you're going off to college soon or something than no sense in getting a dog as they would be taking care of it later.

We are getting a dog either way, My dad wants another lab, my mom dosent want a dog that scares her. I want a husky, or pit. (* they scare her*)

Can't you just go with something like a american bulldog? or boxer?

Not that it's the same. But bully look and might make your mom feel at ease..

Nope, Mom dosent like them.. they scare her... i'm going :screwy: .. I will be back in 2 hours we are going out to sanford to look at a lab that my dad wants. he dosent even take care of his animals because he works from 6:00am to 4:30pm.. which means I take care of it the whole day.

this one works well.

you need to find the puppy you want and you need to set it up so that your mom can play with the puppy before she decides what dog she wants (this works best if you can surprise her with the puppy bring it home for a day or bring her to see it, tell her your going to check something out and you want her opinion on it, but don't tell her what or say its something she might be interested in, like a desk or a gift for your girlfriend or something , be creative.)

if she plays with the puppy she will totally change her mind, you just have to make it seem like it was her choice to get the dog.

I'd go with the husky, they are super lovey, and it will probably be easier to convince her they are good dogs.

you could also butter her up to the breed by watching movies with her that fetcher the dog you want in a good way, like those sled dog movies.

seeing that you live in the great state of florida, you might want to be careful with huskies seeing that if they are out in the sun too long they could overheat and possibly die.

well, me and my dad had a long talk and hes to stuborn and went and got the lab... I gained something from this though, its a secret though.
