I did a google and I am going with scubakid according to this site they are found NC-Maine.
I moved here from Kalamazoo---I obviously have a lot to learn about fish indigenous to coastal SC.

I do AM beach patrol-I pick up broken beach chairs, beer can, bottles and all that’s not "natural".

From time to time I find "stuff" yesterday I came across what was left of a big-ass catfish (just the head) I did not have my camera on me so sorry no picks--I also got stun by a dead man-of-war jelly I thought I was picking up a half buried sandwich bag-what a way to start the day better then caffeine. I will make a point to keep my camera with me and post what I find.

Oh yeah, Thought I would add that yes I actually have a real job-I do this because I can, it's a great way to start the day-I usually find 2-5 bags of trash, 5-15 broken beach chairs, and I donate about 30 beach towels a week. I feel good doing it and I get to drive on the beach and cover about 4-6 miles.
It will be interesting to see what Ernesto will wash up?? I'll be looking for the square grouper myself.

WOW! you got stung by a portuguese man of war??? It must have gotten you on the palm of the hand for you not to be hospitalised. They can't sting your palms nor can they sting through pantyhose. They are not a Jellyfish. They are actually made up of more than one living organizim.

Here is some reading on them: http://www.aloha.com/~lifeguards/portugue.html

Actually I got stun on my inner arm just below my arm pit, hurt like hell! all I can figure is that when I flicked it up into the sand dunes a little blob flew off and landed on my shirt then as I walked back to the truck I rubbed my arm in it. My chest got tight, I got the sweets, felt sick (even today) my left arm feels funky a day later. I never did go to the hospital I did use a bronchial dilator/inhaler.

Had I know not to use vinegar I would not have-I can tell you first hand that vinegar should not be used on a man-o-war sting (as it is not a jelly)-it just makes it worse.

No doubt , As a rule we leave all that is natural on the beach, I drove over to pick it up thinking it was a plastic bag buried in the sand once my partner ID it as a man-of-war we decided to remove it before a child finds it. I have to believe that my 220 lbs. helped me out a bit.

I WOULD ALSO LOVE TO FIND OUT WHERE 2GET THEM FOR A TANK SETUP .BUT I NEED 2 FIND OUT WHERE TO GET A CHAIN DOG SHARK FIRST.WOULD PREFER THAN A PARE OF BAMBOO CAT'S. :) THANK'S

Hey Smiley, welcome to the site.

As far as chain dogs go, I'm going to guess it my be biting off more than you can chew. They aren't the easiest shark to find, ship and care for long term. They have had abnormal requirements (like colder water temps) that are out of reach of most home aquarists.

How big is your tank? Maybe we can find a better shark for your set up.

500g ,i found out while reserching here n there that i would need a chiler.i am now tryng 2 fig out how i could set that up under the tank.not much room will b left under there.i had thougt that all small shark's would b okey wit temp's at least 65-80.i still need more info as possible if i will keep considering this shark.anymore help is good help.thank's

Lol hospitalised? We call them bluebottles here and quite often get hundreds of them all over the beaches when the wind is right. Ive seen little kids cry from it but even plenty of them can tough it out and continue on swimming 10 mins later.
Geez you guys must be wimpy over that side of the world:ROFL::popcorn:
