yeah my mother in law is a b*tch. She sayes I spend to much on my fish tanks. Screw her how does she know my finances? Just because she is poor doesn't mean everyone else in the world is too. GRR. This is a good thread for getting stuff about mother in laws off the chest.

As far a the pet issue. I have a cat for about a year and then for no reason it attacked me. Sounds funny but I was in the hospital with severe lacerations on my head because of this thing. My wife didn't want me to put it down, she said something just spooked him. So she mentioned that her mother told her that she would take the cat off our hands. LOL I told her that is fine. I killed two birds with one stone. Now I have an excuse not to go to her house!

wow, i know that if i had a dog that attacked my baby, reform would not be in order. I would never trust the dog again and even if it was reformed, i still would never trust it.

I would either let someone know the history of the dog and give it to them, or it would get taken out back and handled the old fasion way. Old yeller like.
sorry if that offends anyone.

LOL i was also attacked by a cat i know what you mean. Everyone makes fun of me for it still that i got beat up by an 8 pound cat. It was bad too. I was on the computer and turned around and stood up to get my smokes (dont smoke anymore lol) anyways as i reached down this cat came out of nowhere and kept attacking me. Everytime i through it down it jumped right back up . Seriously it was just like a horror movie. Finally i threw it far enough that i got my head to toe bloody body in my pj's out of the house. I walked up the street to call the SPCA at a cofee shop and everyone came out running and screaming "call an ambulance". I looked in the window and i couldnt see any white skin all there was ,was red blood and my hands were the size of boxing gloves. When my ex found out what happened ,lets just say the cat isnt around anymore. But i had to get rabie shots and everthing. Not a fun experience.

It is not difficult. Dog should know her scent, be aware of her in the house and of her importance. But the dog should never perceive Natacha as a pup and Natacha should never perceive the dog as another child or a plaything. Never leave the 2 alone untill Natacha knows how to interact and respect the dog and its space ( on account of her age your current dog will be long gone before that is the case, but you'll get a new pup ), which will happen perhaps when the girl is 6 or 7 years old.
Be present and atentive, and observe. Get some distance from them, but be always observant. And do not let them interact when the dog is sleeping, eating, or having a bad day ( any attentive owner knows when a dog is in a bad mood ).

When another dog shows up, and they measure each other ( ok this mostly happens with alpha breeds ) and start rising their hackles, the child should be taught to IMMEDIATELY get distance from the dogs.

Its quite simple. The child needs to know that the dog is an animal, not a sibling, and respect it for what it is..

Have you observed how kids that live in the countryside rarely, if ever, have problems with dogs? Its alwas the city kids who do...

Freshwater......I am sorry you have to get the shots. Those things gotta hurt like hell. My doctors told me to get the shot and I told them I would lock the cat up for ten days to observe it. They advised me against waiting to see if the cat had rabies or not. But I did not get the shots. The cat is just the spawn of Satan. Cats can do some serious damage. I almost lost my right eye from it attacking.

wow that is just crazy aswell. I would not have had to get them but because the cat was dead they said they had to. And yes the first set hurt like hell. AThey had to put a needle in every single bit ehich was 43 then 1 a month for a few months i had to just get one shot in the arm.

I know being attacked by a cat is not funny, I was showing a lady some kittens we had once, because hers was run over, and out of nowhere her female cat just started mauling my arm.. I managed to get her off my before she got past my shoulder, I thought, hey, I'll just push it off(when it was clawing it's way towards my face), and when I tried the crazy thing started biting. And I knew this cat, I went to see her every day, I think the kitten must have upset her or something.. All the owner did when it was happening was say "Princess! That's bad!" :irked:
But for some reason when I think about it I start laughing. Crazy feline.. I've had dog attacks that weren't that bad.
