Hello everyone.
I have finally decided that I am getting a ray. It will be my first ray, almost certainly a motoro and I will wait a few months before I get one.
I have a few questions:
I found these two books at my favorite online shop, should I get both or is the Richard M.D. Ross book the only I'll ever need?
-Freshwater Stingrays - Richard M.D. Ross
-AquaGuide to Freshwater Stingrays - Hans Gonella ; Herbert R. Axelrod
Tank questions:
I have several tanks where I could put it, at this time my choices are:
Tank 1: 1000 l/260 g. inhabitants one big 35 cm polypterus endliceri, three 30 cm crucian carps
) )
Tank 2: 720 l/190 g. inhabitants (amongst others) one 25 cm Panaque, several smaller polypterus spp. spiny eels and others. Panaque could kill ray?
Tank 3: 170 l/45 g. corner tank, quite good footprint. inhabitants: none.
I was thinking Tank 3, even though it has a smaller buffer volumewise, and things can go wrong much faster in a small tank, I'd imagine it would be easier to observe feeding/behaviour aso in the beginning and move the fish when it has started eating and gained a little weight.
Filtration for Tank 3 is one Pentair Lifegard Fluidized Bed Filter FB300, should be sufficent biological filter, no?
I will probably have more questions later in the process...
Thanks
-SF
