No they weren't, they born a long time ago when people believed more into some old fairly about a man walking on water than a time were science is fact. Fish keeping is a scientific ordeal.
 
just get a 2260 or a 2262 and let me buy the 2250 that will solve your bio filter problem and the bigger filter problem that you have with your stock.
 
Also to do a 50 percent water chance on that tank a week would cost under 5 dollars a month... according to my current water rate.

if it wasnt about scientist we wouldnt be having the filteration we have nowadays or we wouldnt beable to keep fish we are able to keep alive now adays

Other then my brains about to explode.. Learn what "Cycling" is.. because of the questions asked, show you honestly don't understand how biological filtration works, and is maintained/achieved. And as a fishkeeper.. you need to.
