Domino Effect. Worst I've Ever Seen

I returned home, from work, yesterday kinda dragging from a rough one. I got a little boost when a package arrived with my new tropical gar. I took the box over to the fish building to start acclimating him to his new home.
When I entered the 2nd fishroom, I noticed quite a bit of water on the floor. This is not uncommon because some of my bigger fish can get a little enthused when they go after minnows. I placed the trop in a 150 to float and went to check on the bigger tanks.
Talk about shock!! After surveying the full extent of the damage, here's what I surmise had occurred:
From the bruised and swollen mouth, my RTC must have been the one to break the 78" round glass tabletop on my 650gal. A large piece of the broken glass top pierced the bottom of the tank and was causing a steady drip. My 2 1/2 ft gator gar probably freaked from the excitement and jumped from the bin to and through the top of the 280 next to it. Broken pieces of the 280's top killed my 12" WB dat. The gar was belly up in the 280 after, apparently, choking on my 12" Leichardti aro. The havoc in the 280 also caused my parroon shark to jump from the tank into a 250 that was, sadly, empty. And, my albino Monopterus eel... I still haven't located him. The eel either went in the gar first or, he's holed up somewhere in the fishroom. I left the water on the floor in case the eel can't find his way into a sump.
Today I'm dropping almost a grand to replace all my tops (tanks over 55gal) with cell cast acrylic. I don't know if I can handle another disaster like this one.

I have to look at the percentages factored into these events. I had chaos in 2 tanks. That's less than 2% of the tanks I have running. While this can be viewed as disastrous for a single event (I really hate losing the aro and dat), the other hundred+ tanks made it through as 'just another day'.

BTW, the RTC is already back on his feed even with his bruised mouth. I decided on bird netting for the top of his bin. I wove (until after freakin' midnight) bungee cord through the edges and it cinches tight around the rim of his tank. Now all he can do is bounce off the net.

...no sign of the eel, yet.
