Hey guys, I don't mean to hijack your thread or talk **** or anything like that.

I am just wondering if it is true that he still sells hybrids and passes them off as real fish or anything like that. It just seems to me that anytime I look up his name, people say bad things about him.

(Never have had any personal experience with him)

i've ordered from conkel twice already. each time has been a pleasant, professional experience in which all fish arrived healthy, as described, non hybrid etc.
i've read a lot of rumors or feedback suggesting otherwise, but personal experience, of which i can only speak from has indicated that he's been a great vendor to deal with. his prices are the most competitive on the market by far, and from my experience the fish have been fantastic.
you can choose what to believe from other people, but i'm just giving you my two cents.
 
Don Conkel is a wholesaler and sells at wholesale prices.... therefore you must purchase in quantity. (Not ones fish here, one fish there). His quantities are clearly stated in his price sheet so please read it over carefully.

Example:
(1.25-1.5" 12 ct) (2-2.5" 10 ct) (3-3.5" 6 ct) (4-4.5" 4 ct) (5-6" 2 ct)

If you purchase 1.25"-1.5" fish... the required quantity is 12 counts per bag. His prices very low so the overall price for 12 fish would be that of 2 from other vendors.

I think the rumors originate from people whom have never dealt with him.

I was lucky enough to be included in a group buy and it was a great experience. Fish were bagged well, shipping was affordable, and fish were in great condition with zero signs of being a hybrid.

If you are on the fence, I would get off quick because a chance like this doesn't come around very often.
 
Nevermind...... Group Buy is CANCELED! I'll just order on my own..... not worth the headache to save a couple dollars. Apparently it is too difficult for some people to understand how this thing works.

This should be handled thru PM or start your own thread (research the forum) if you're not interested in participating. This is how the "rumor" perpetuates itself and accusations/reputations are formed and/or damaged.
