I went to a store, and saw a cute fiddler crab, so I inquired about him. They said it was free, because they had just found him in the store th day before. they hadn't carried them in six months, so he spent six months walking around the store feeding on crickets.

Well, I decided he was adorable and wanted to house him on the land part of my crayfish tank. The two avoided each other for two days, so I was happy that they weren't going to bother fighting. But, the past few days he has been MIA. I took all of the rocks out of the tank and checked the filter. He's gone!!! I put a piece of net over the opening around the filter and had a net with a metal wand holding it down.

If he can escape a store which has a habitat made to keep him from escaping, then my homemade piece of crap idea isn't going to work.

Never adopt an escape artist....

yes, for about five days. and it is probably somewhere in my room because I keep the door shut, and there's no room underneath the door.
that's all i can think about when I go to sleep, or put my shoes on. sneaky little bugger. hope he doesn't mess with my boston terrier! she sleeps in my room and has the tendancy tobe overly curious with moving objects =0

Maybe you accidently ate it in your sleep

so, the crab has yet to be found, he has to be dead by now, so i'm just watching out for odd smells lol. but, one of my larger hatchets just recently escaped, and i thought i saw a potato chip on the ground picked it up to throw it away...and low and behold, it was my hatchet =[

the same thing has happend to me i had one and it would grab onto the plants and make its way to the filter and get out. but i always found it within 24hrs.

That sucks it made a home in yo stomach.

Crab cakes anyone??? :)

Are those things community tank compatible? I think they need more land than water. I want to add something into my 150gal besides fish. Any other ideas? I'm not sure i want to drop my water low enough to house a turtle. I had an electric blue cray that attacked one of my rope eels, so thats a no go. Are their any inverts that can live peacefully with fish?
