Use a razor blade. Once it’s mostly removed use sandpaper on a palm sander.

Proper scraping as an art & it takes time to master.
If you use sandpaper you just contaminate your joints.
Use a razor blade or similar honed scraper.
Never use dull ones. That's how you gouge things.

I think he means sand the front surface not the edges. the edges are router cut so it should glue up fine. thanks everyone!
