haha gotcha..
It's so hard for me to feed my baby bichirs when kept with datnoides...for those who never had a dats, they're super super fast when it comes to food.
My 75 overstock grow out tank includes..
6 - Indo dats (they were 3/4"-1" in january, now, they're pushing 4")
1 - Thin Bar Dat (5-6")
2 - Galaxy / Vampire Plecos (4")
1 - Johanna Pike (4")
1 - Leichardti arowana - 7-8"
1 - Fei Feng 5"
1 - Tigrinus 8"
1 - Jurense 8"
Polyp..
1 - Delhezi 5"
1 - Endli Endli 5"
1 - Long Fin Sen 6"
1 - Buttie 5"
Now, feeding time is so much fun to watch, I can litteraly drop about 10 pellets of massivore delight AND 10-15 small chunks of market shrimp or cut up silverside and none of them would make it to the bottom. I guess my dats and aro just don't really know when to quit eating lol..
I have been using feeding prong to put the food right in front of the bichir's mouth. 2 out of 3 times, the dats or the aro would steal the food before making it to the bottom.
If you have similar stock as mine, I'd like to hear what method if you have any to feed the bottom dwellers..
I'd like to feed them twice a day to get them pump up. But it's pretty difficult to do with " Super fast moving constantly very hungry fish" around the bichirs..lol
