Alright I accidently fed my Aro to a Gulper. Now the Gulpers are goin to be moved to their own tank. I really liked the Leichtardi an the way he looked in my tank. Now I know if I get another he'll be fine with most of my cats. However I've got a 10" hybrid in that tank an wanna know if I get another Aro will he be okay wit him. I mean the Hybrid doesn't even eat feeders, but obviously I've been wrong before. Tell me what ya think, no more $130 feeders. Seriously help.

how do you know the aro was fine with the other cats it was only in the tank for a few hours most of which he was swimming for his life from the gulper :screwy:

i think it might work, i mean i know how you feel, (pretty sure my lmb ate my scomb:irked:)
rtc/tsns have big mouths but not nearly as big as a gulpers

Gulpers aren't big swimmers they hover so the Aro was cruisin for the first day an a half unmolested. I don't know what happened when I left, I would have thought with a Gulper he'd be a threat at night to the Aro. So the first night I stayed a quiet vigil that night an they just passed each other harmlessly. Funny as the Gulper only cruises at night my guess being that like most cats their predatory nature comes out at night. An your right I don't know if the Aro would be all right wit the other cats. Again I was bein vane an assuming mid-top water fish with bottom feeders what could happen. However look what happened last time I assumed. Also T1KARMANN maybe you'd like to offer some advice it would be appreciated. I know I'm not a bad hobbyist since I've kept fish since I was 11 an lost 8 fish during that time(19 years). An trust me I remember losin all my fish cause either I fought like heck to save them or they were my ex-wifes fish an she made sure I remembered. All the rest were either given away or traded to petstores for store credit. I do try to take good care of my fish and appreciate advice. As I said before I've never kept a Aro. I've mostly kept Cichlids an big catfish.

Last week there was a thread on in the classifieds, a guy trying to get rid of his rtc after it ate his aro it doesnt mater the length of the aro they are thin .He had a pic of it with the tail sticking out of the cats mouth a real nightmare .I was at a lfs a few months ago they had a rtc that had just ate a tsn almost the same size everyone at the lfs was shocked they had been in the same tank for a year then snap.

I haven't had a Leichartdi myself but I'd imagine that as an arowana, they'd be best by themselves until they grow at least 10". ...maybe a paroon shark or clarias or whatnot.

aros grow fast it you grow it to 10inch you have many tank mate options

but i dont know about them are how aggressive they are to other tank mates
