Don't pound me for this, but I'm a goldfish keeper and it just makes me mad :swear: ...

Feeding goldfish to other fish (really feeding any type of "feeders" for that matter) is useless. "Feeders" provide no nutrional value, and only introduce disease. Please try feeding bloodworms, tubifex worms, or brine shrimp to your prized fish. It's much healthier and kinder.

Please try to see my stand point on this. I love monsters too- I've always wanted a nice big tank with a clown knife, oscar, and arowana (I like the looks of jardinis).

I keep goldfish too . Please understand that feeder comets are bred to be fed to other fish . I also dont approve of feeding goldfish to monsters only because they run a risk of getting parasites and diseases. But on the same token, there are other fish out there that dont readlily eat on non live foods and sometimes feeders would do.

that is actually not true

feeder have excellent nutritional value, what do you think wild predator fishes eat? :grinyes: it just that some are worse than others. goldifsh are not good feeders becasue they have something in their bodies that can affect the health of other fish longterm wise, i cant put my finger on what it is called *PAGING ODDBALL*!.

and blood and tubfix worms are not very filling for the monsters we keep :grinno:

pellets, market shrimp, and fish fillet, are some of the alterative choice for big eater like arowana and oscars :grinyes:

the disease part is 110% true though

Thanks for understanding... But after seeing feeders stuck to the top of filters in a 3-way feeder tank, when they were still gasping for air, half out of the water, it really makes me mad :swear: .

I have 2 goldfish right now that are about 5-6 inches... And they are about 1-2 inches wide- they love their veggies :).

Del: You remember...chelated copper and CuSO4 (copper sulfate) are used to reduce diseases associated with overcrowding at feeder farms. The copper levels can damage the livers of some predator fish species and most herps. And, most of us have heard of, or seen, what any copper levels can do to inverts.

its not copper im talking about

its like something in the fishes bodies that inhibits the absorption of certain nutrients, know what i mean?

certain fish have this while others dont and goldfish are on the this list

that may be the last time I feed guppies to my dats. Would buying small fish from a bait shop be more nutritional or dangerous?
