And since we're on this topic... I feed my guys chicken liver, beef liver, krill, and beef heart. ( my fish are listed in the sig.) I assume this is sufficient.

its not copper im talking about

its like something in the fishes bodies that inhibits the absorption of certain nutrients, know what i mean?

certain fish have this while others dont and goldfish are on the this list

DOH!!! Sorry. Your referring to feeders having high levels of thiaminase that can lead to vitamin B1 (thiamin) deficiency in predatory fish. I never really worried about that since gut-loading and supplements can provide the needed B1.

I tend not to feed my boyz feeders also. They're expensive after awhile! I feed my boyz pellets. It doesn't take long for fish to except pellets, in my experience.

I love gold fish. When i was starting as a fish keeper, i started out w/ assortment o goldfish. Right now, i feed 1 of my fish cuz he doesn't want any shrimp, krill, brine, black or superworm i throw at him. I didn't even feed him for like three wks and still wouldn't eat. He loves live foods. And goldfish are nutritious.

Mymymy...

I know that fish eat fish in the wild, but there's no aquarist dumping in pellets or shrimp everyday. Some fish will eat whatever is edible.

I feed my goldfish lettuce and floating pond sticks... Oh, and after several attemps of trying to put live plants in, they also like to shred and eat live plants. That's my pond fish, but my indoor goldfish only eat pellets and flakes (they ignore lettuce, brine shrimp, etc.).
