One should always be trying to improve themselves and not just float along.

Are any of your friends successful? Do they have jobs outside of retail or just above minimum wage? If not then tell them to STFU and stop listening to them as they too have no idea how to proceed in life.

Well first off you are being used, plain and simple, and by extension we the tax payers are too. I can't fault anyone here for telling you to get your stuff together. You are in a no win situation, they have total control and are getting a free ride out of you. What I'm about to type hurt me more than I want to think about when I was in your position. You need to be flexible in this economy so you HAVE to give up the hobby for a while. Lose the tanks and dump all your stuff beyond the basics. De cluttering their house may help but it might not. Start looking at educational opportunities get the GED followed by a trade school, did trade school before college best decision ever. This way you can join the ranks of us tax payers and pay back that money you get now. Anything else will lead to a nasty cycle of moving out getting frustrated and moving back. I can't see any other viable solution.
For all those who spout off about family being your stability and you owe them, nice theory and for some of us valid. In this case he's covering their bills with jack **** in return. As a more extreme example lets take the baby making crack head who "Lover her kids". What she loves is that there free goberment money. I owe my parents a **** load but not because they made me, fed me and put a roof over my head, that's the basic responsibility of parents. That's like wanting an accolade for not being a mugger.
