Sorry for your loss. I would hide what's left of the fish somewhere in her room. haha
+1

i had a friend come and feed my fish when went to detroit when i came back two bags of food were gone both fish were dead and my room smelt like dead fish and crap

I have a friend with a marine tank and he left for vacation and asked his friend to feed his fish and turn off his Halide lights... A week later he came back to a Nuked tank with everything dead including corals he had for years.

moral of the story: friends suck

I can understand and dont think you can blame someone for stuffing up (eg overfeeding, forgetting light schedules, forgetting water changes, etc) when they are not themselves a passionate fishkeeper ... They don't understand the importance and 9 times out of 10 they think they are doing the right thing and are at least trying to help.. Mistakes happen, you cant blame someone for not feeling the same way you do about your fish (not everyone is nuts like us :P).

In the case of the OP though .. that's messed up, and I WOULD hold her responsible in that situation ...

If she ever calls you needing a ride home from somewhere, volunteer to come pick her up. Then, never show up and don't answer your phone. :grinno:

When she confronts you later about it, just say, "Oh? You're upset because I said I would do something, then didn't? Hmmmmmmmmmmm, oh well!"

;)
Or you could just tell her how you really feel :naughty:

Go slap the ***** and make here buy you a new one

This reminds me a couple of years ago when I went away for a month and left my then prized breeding colony of moba's at home. all food was bagged to the exact feeding and had my dad drop by my house to feed...He nearly killed them as when i got home, the tank was so dirty I could hardly see the mobas. My old man said he didn't notice as he did not turn on the lights in the tank!...sigh.

Since I have expensive rays and aros, I can't really go away for long and if I have to for what ever reasons, I'll pay my LFS who I know well to go and feed/clean the tank!...it'll be worth the money to have someone experience to take care of your fish. No different when someone puts their cats/dogs into animal boarding "hotels" during vacations!....We paid $45/day for our cat for a week....or should I say the wife's cat! lol..

She needs to reimburse you the replacement cost. She won't be classy enough to do it on her own, so I'd mention it. Even sadder is that she's a pet owner herself, and knew you were trustworthy with her furkid. That's a give-and-take not to be broken, dumb beeyatch.
