But, some people are just stuborn and think they know more than you about fish or any given subject just because they are older or think they have more expiriance, or anything. Again, He DID do the polite thing though, and sometimes people are just stubborn and won't listen. (I suck at spelling, I know)

The point is, that you can't change other people but you can work on your communication skills.
I don't mind if ewurm urinates on all the stubborn. I just doubt it will really make any difference.

I'm just glad to hear that I'm not the only one who endes up cleaning other peoples tanks when you visit somewhere and its in dire need of a little TLC. I ended up cleaning three tanks at an elementary school that I worked at because the teachers didn't exactly know the drill. I also actualy enjoy going over to a fellow fish keepers house and helping her clean her tanks (she has kids so not enough time always to do a waterchange).

If there is one thing I've learned in all the years I've been in this hobby, it's do NOT try to tell people what is wrong with their tanks! Most get very defensive with you. Just try to give subtle pointers, and make sure you point out what they are doing right.

I do not even visit my FIL anymore because of his girlfriend's horrid 20 gallon tank. I'm not kidding. I can not sit in that house and look at that tank. I'll spare you the details, but I lost all respect for that woman (not that I had a lot for that gold digger to begin with...) when I told her the Plecos will grow to two feet and her reply was: "Well, I just kill them and get a new one when they get big."

I don't even know why some people keep fish. Really, I don't. It hurts my head to think about it sometimes.

0_o Do what ewurm says than. How could she even do that? :swear:
Come on what were the details... :footinmou:

My neighbor had 5 or six assorted goldies, each about a foot or more, (comets, fancies), a 10" plec, and a huge Angel in a 55g. She never did water changes, ect. So I asked her if she would like me to trade her plec in for one that stays small. She said ok, then later came to my house and asked me to trade in all her fish. So I did, and now her bf, "who knows so much more than I do", is pissed at me. I can deal with people who are willing to learn, but people who don't know wtf they are talking about, but sit there and put me down, and insult my knowledge? :swear:

That was good of you to do V, wait til she's wasted and ask her for the fish, I bet she'll give em to you.:grinyes:
