Yeah, he could eat a pinky...that would fatten him up in no time. I agree with some of the previous posts...I think you are doing a very noble thing. A lot of people would see a Tokay in that shape and just worry about them losing money if he dies.

Best of luck, you have to love Tokays...even thought they are little bastards.

You're right, he does look very skinny. Shame they get into the condition to start with. As long you can and know how to look after it, then great. So many reptiles seem to get sold because responsible keepers just cant stand to see their favourite animals suffer like it. Hope you have better luck than with your first...whatever happened to it.

It is a moral decision. Should you spare the animal's life by rescuing it or should you let it die and not supporting the pet store's profit, thus stopping the sales of reptiles subjected to such cruel practices?

Either way... it's up to the costumers.

I fail to see how taking an animal out of a pet shop and bringing him home is "Saving him". Your plan was to put him in a 10 gallon tank and what?... A better plan would have been to take him to a vet, or at least check symptons as to why a Tokay wouldn't eat; these lizards are generally eating machines. Personally, I would have dropper fed him some high calorie paste that is readily available in any full line pet shop, got some antibiotics into him and wished for the best, not take him home, do nothing and hope for the best.
