I have heard females have a hierarchy, and males fight for territory.
 
Tyler that plant is a Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum). It's a good choice. I just hope it's not one of the larger varieties.

ohok. we have had it in the house for a while now(year or 2)

and two smaller ones came up this year in the pot.
