Until the people that move the hands of the clock have the launch codes, I don't trust the accuracy. Besides it's just a visual representaion to scare people who otherwise would be happily unaware. It's like the Sherwin Williams color chart that the Home Land Security people liked showing.

the clock will most likely never see midnight b/c by the clocks own standards if it hit midnight we would all be gone. unless we did have a nuclear holocaust I think that moving a clock to midnight would be the last thing on the remaining populations mind.
