What size tank and what are u feeding him?? I am going to buy one in a few days. It will be 3-4 inches.

For now he is in a 20 gallon, currently looking for a bigger set up. Mine started at 3 inches and I would say now he is now at least 4 inches! He's eating crickets (carrot fed) arowana pellets from hikari, freeze dried shrimp, blood worms (which now he doesn't go after as much...think he likes the bigger stuff now!) baby minnows and guppies.

i think it was the water. atleast the store has a return policy, so i got a new one just now. hopefully i can keep this one alive.

I'm glad you were able to get a new one! Keep an eye on water quality and water temp, mine is at 82-83 degrees. Also to minimize stress to such a small baby have a floating plant in there so he can hide!

yeah thanks. last night i bought a thermometer and set the temp to 82. guess ill go grab some floating plants from my other tank and put it inside now.

Have you checked out Infinite Aquatics? That's where I got my baby from, he was only $35. In my area its rare to see a black aro, and if you do they are really expensive!

I am getting one from him also. I am soo excited. Also do you think that my baby black arowana will eat mini cichlid bio-gold pelets?? I heard they bring out more color and wanted to get him started on them early.
