i get the foam in the buckets or container im filling with water it just goes away on it own i see it sometimes on top of tank but its gone within a half hour

i treat the whole tank... better safe than sorry. 
and it doesn't hurt the fish. i do use graded medicine cups to measure exactly the needed dose to save and use at it's optimum level.
