all tank stands are to be build with wood supports as they are all from the DIYjoey build so it will be fine.Yes as long as the wood is taking the impact of the weight.... screws are completely fine

ive built tons of stands. and i used the same exact build your is like. But this stand will be different. I just finished building the frames. I just cut the Legs, now i just need to cut out the supports and I should be done.If you build the stand properly it will be rock solid. If it has "shake" it wasn't safe from the get go. When you build stands like the one in my picture they have no movement in them at all with or without a tank on them. I use 3" screws and it would take a richter 9 earthquake to make the screws come out.
i think its the opposite. they buy from the big box stores and pick and choose. cause there was barely any 2x6 left at my store... and it was in a crappy mess pile. Not to mention the wood were all bent and cracked... so i feel they just left the duds for the guys like me. but i dont really mind it. its just a little extra work. as long as the wood is solid it should be fineCool good luck. There should be a real lumberyard in you're area check around. Most builders don't go buying all their wood from big box stores.
