So how does this look...should work? I got the stand from nolapete...said the shelf can hold up to 2500lbs...the boards are pressure treated deck boards about 1" thick. I plan to put another 125 on the bottom and some small 10's on the top.

I personally think it looks good.. however owning something similar to that for tools, I do know they can bend in the center, as well unless you went all out.. thats made of white metal... meaning the hooks arent very strong. you will need to reinforce that. (what is it? 3hooks per? Total of 12 ...)

however, again.. I really think it looks great.

Looking forwards to seeing updates :)

Edit: (addition)
Ooh Ooh... also, check the footing.. pretty narrow legs on that.. and its on carpet (presuming cement under) .. anything you can do so you dont have all the weight on the four 90degree legs? ... like maybe brace the bottom area of the bottom tank?

Might be too flexy. Search for screaminleeman's thread where his tank burst that was sitting on similar shelving units.

Yes 3 hooks...and yes the legs are smallish. I was going to maybe put some more deck boards under the feet...a single board that went from the front leg to the back leg. The floor is carpet...that real short berber kind glued to a wood floor (im on a second floor of my office building). Even tho the weight of the tank is even you think it could sag in the middle?

Here's the thread I was talkin about http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=306478

Slightly different situation, since his was a glasscages tank with a flat bottom and not a floating bottom.

Ahh now I remember reading that...I knew there was something that was different. That was also a different rack than this one...I think it lookes like one I see at lowes...only 2 hooks and the lowes one is only rated for like 1500 per shelf...mine is 2500. I will still re read that thread tho.
