Dovi Plunge

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Why not both? If you have a nice big tank for a Dovii, you would have plenty of room underneath for both a sump, and a nice canister.
After all; you really can't have too much filtration! And with the sump, the heater and other breakables are out of harms way, biological filtration and the surface skimmer are great, and the cannister is great for the mechanical and chemical filtration.
I've got pair of young Dovii, 6" male and 4" female, who are getting along amazingly well, that I got when the were they were under 2" a couple of months ago, definitely one of my favorite fish species!

I can tell a difference already with this little dovi. My daughter has named it Mr. Pipsqueak which is quite ironic I told her wait until she see's it in a few months ! lol. I will be buying a good camera for my next investment so I can take some pictures of my parachromis collection that I love so much . Funny thing is ever since I picked up this little guy put it in a cycled tank beside the larger tank my female jag who has been very docile for the last 5 years has all of a sudden got energy and has tried bailing out of her tank many times in the last few days. Once I pick up "Mr. Pipsqueaks" new home I will have to put it on the opposite wall . The little dovi has been eating three times a day and is not hiding. It swims right to the glass and begs for food every time I walk down the stairs . So cool !!

Hi, I have own a pair for around 2years ,spawn for me few time and now male is hitting 15" and female around 10", very exciting cichlid to keep with fun, if can will try to share some vid later on, hope u enjoy keeping and later will feel the Dovii power!

I am quite happy with what I purchased. It has grown half inch already and its only been a week. The little guy begs and is way more personable than most of the fish I own . I am pretty excited !
