dovii and tankmates?

Hello. for those of you who own dovii, would you reccoment to keep it as a solo show speciemen or in a tank of 500g or so would be ok with other large fish? and if so any reccomondations. this is also lookin at when it reaches full size.

i would say solo but in a 500 gal,i think it would work with other fish IMO

with dovii's if you RAISE them in a community i've noticed solo males to fine with THAT community but once they establish dominance over the community you CAN NOT add any more fish they will be totaled

If you already have the 500, I would definitely grow the dovii up with other fish.

well right now i have 2 500g on the drawing board, i really want to grow out a micropeltes in one and im sure those 2 wont work together so thats in one tank with maby soemthing els if i can find anyhtign that works and the other tank im still thinking of what to go with in it, and iv always wanted to keep dovii, but jsut thkning of what kidn a of fish would work with that fish full grown. i was thkning of doin a large piranha tank but iv never had a dovii befor so im just playin with ideras right now. deffitly want to do a micro in one though, and anythtig that would work but im doughting it i think that will be a solo tank in the long run.

naw it shouldn't have to be a solo tank at all honestly if you have NONE of the fish already thats even better

pair of RTM's
pair of Festae's
few clown loaches (at least 6 and they need to be BIG)
few big silver dollars (at least 5 for dithers)
or 3 or 4 tinfoils
ETC.............

something like that WOULD work if you introduced the cichlids ALL at the same size maybe anywhere from 3-6in. on the cichlids at introduction size

loaches and sd's would be dead in no time, I might try some vieja otherwise at first signs of aggro get rid of the other fish, i think a pair of dovii in a aquascaped 500 would look awesome

yeah channa micropeltes there asian acualy. but im sure that fish might have to be on its own. but the other tank Is what im thinking abotu with a dovii and soem other stuff, unless you think dovii and a mico would work but i doubt it.
