I can't really speak with any authority since I got mine at about that size. I had him in a 55 for a couple of months, and he was a chicken. I upgraded him to a 125 and he has been a different fish since. It was not over night, and he still has his "shy moments", Here is the latest.

I just keep an eye on my guy when cleaning, every now and then I need to fend him off with the python. I have been bitten my him while cleaning the tank. He calms down after I get in the tank and start cleaning, he will inspect stuff while cleaning and bite things. The bubbles in the python keep him pretty occupied.

I have a pair and he pretty much hates all my folks at home , me included as well. Male is around 6" and female around 5".
Female is pretty relaxed and is not bothered , but the male goes all berserk, splashes water if i reach out my hand to feed , move any stuff in the aquarium. This is the first time ever I am so scared of putting my hand in water too.....though i have never been bit by it.

nice !!! how big is he ?

About 12", It is hard to tell for sure since he does not stay still very often. He is pretty small compared to a lot of fish out there. He has yet to go after me, but I always feel that he is watching me more than I am watching him.
