i'm wanting to setup a biotype tank for my dovii to give the tank a natural look. i've searched google but i couldn't really find anything.

has anyone got any underwater photos of lake nicaraguan or can anyone give me some info on what its actually like. most pics i'm finding are more for the tourism side of things

cheers

Send a PM to Jeff Rapps (bigguapote) He has fish there before I belive....I bet the tannins are heavy, mud bottom, and heavily rooted....That is just my guess though...Good luck.

hello! well since I actually live at Costa Rica I think I can give you a good idea of how a dovii biotipe is! First of all... no plants! then you will need a lot of bogwood, then a lot of round riverine stones, last but not least, you would need a very fine riverbed sand... its better not to make yourself the tank's decoration, just put the bogwoood and the stones and the doviis will arrange decorations as they like! good luck! if you need more help send me a pm

Lots of bogwood, round river rocks and light colored sand is the decor of all my tanks. I better get some more Dovii. :)

Wait! I've got lots of bogwood in storage...... I guess I'd better get some more tanks.....and THEN more dovii!

I'm sure you already know from experiences but use really sturdy bogwood and large stones, because your doviis sure to do some redecorating himself ;)
