My dovii was bit by one of his siblings a couple weeks ago. Nothing serious, just a mark. The weird thing is that it's still there and is turning blue. Is this normal? Is it a scar? I don't mind either way and am not worried about it. Just kind of surprised me that it's still there and blue now. It's kinda cool. It's above his eye and to the left in the pic.

If blue is the color of the skin underneath it sounds normal.....numerous animals' scar tissue can be a different color than before injury. My oldest dog has white hair covering scars where there used to be brown or black hair previously and it has been like that for several years

Hard to tell from the photo but nothing looks sinister so i wouldn't worry bout it. If however it looks inflamed then up the water changes.

I'm not worried about him health wise. He's in great shape, very active, full of piss and vinegar. I'm just curious about the bite still being there. Thanks for the compliment! I adore him. I've been keeping fish for 3 years and he is by far my favorite fish I've had. Really couldn't be happier with him. He's about 4 inches now and owns a 8x3x2 tank. He's the boss, him and the other fish in there know it.

Thanks. I've had it about a year. It's really not that hard to keep up with it. I had a ton of driftwood in it at one point and it got messy pretty fast. When I got the dovii I took it all out and went with a couple pots and fake plants. That made maintenance much easier. I also lucked out, the current pushes all of the debris into one of the pots. Makes quick cleanings way easier. Rough estimate I'd say I spend about 4 hours every two weeks on it. Most of that it waiting for it to drain and fill.

Cool, Iv'e been debating a big tank for a while now just don't wanna bite of more than i can chew. Figure i'd keep the substrate to a minimum & let my Dovii kick all the crap into the filters, let him do all the work ; )
