Dovii bite

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's well worth it. My long term plan is to set up a drip system. Then all I hafta do is vac out the waste. It was pretty funny and I first out my dovii in it. I got 6 at around 2 inches and it was just them in the tank. Could barely see them.

This is it now. All about easy maintenance. No wood or live plants, removed a garbage can full of sand.

LOL @ garbage can

Yes,...Dovii are very cool fish, I'm a Dovii-noob also, but I only had mine for about 2 months....little 2.5"'ers. I know they wil grow, and change but the RTMs are giving me a much bigger job right now. 1 has dominated everything already so I added a new larger fish and took 2 out last week and am about to take another 1-2 out now. For NOW, the little wolf-cubs are well-behaved and i'm trying to "socialize" them as much as possible early in hopes they don't turn savage, .....going to be interesting seeing which Parachromis and of what sex can be kept w/ Dovii. Here's one when the RTM allows him some camera-time: STG_1615.JPG STJ_1618.JPG STF_1614.JPG STC_1621.JPG STA_1619.JPG

Best of luck to you. Hopefully you get a more passive one. I'm hoping for the aggressive psycho beast dovii. I got 6 hoping to get a pair. When I get one I'll rehome the other 4. I also just got a red devil. He's in a 90 right now. Both the dovii and this guy are f1's from Rapps.

Your best bet would probably be a female dovii if you're shooting for a community tank. 999 out of 1000 times a big male will eventually wipe the tank out.

lol I think I got 2 males, but they are the smallest fish I have along w/ the RTMs so I can try to put them n w/ my big guys soon, I was just trying to get them established and maybe 3-4" 1st.

Very nice, that's the tank I want cept 30" tall. Those Dovii will have fantastic growth in all that water. I picked up a Dovii 13"/8" pair a week ago & got them in a 180 which should give me plenty of time to sort something out.
