Dovii Cichlid Sexing

Hey guys I picked up these two Doviis. Hoping for one to be a male. They will grow out in a 55G tank and then I’ll move them to my 375. I feel like they would be lost in such a big tank now. Any idea on the sex of these or is it too early to tell? They about 2.5 inches

There to small to sex, wait until there 5 or 6 inch. Look out for freckles in the unpaired fins and freckles above the lateral line to indicate male

Hey Andy! I know it’s soon, but these fish are growing really fast. This guy is showing promise of a male. Would you agree? Or still too early?

I've enlarged the picture but still can't see any sign of freckles in the unpaired fins, or freckles above the lateral line. They may show in time, but at this stage I wouldn't want to say male.

I know it’s probably too early but I’m impatient haha. I feel like I can see a tiny bit of spotting on the body and tiny spotting starting to develop on the unpaired fins. Am I seeing things? You’ll have to zoom in
