Thanks, I took the jag out when i found a female dovii. I only put her in there because i wanted jagovii hybrids & now i do my largest is almost 8"Nice vid Randy.I wonder how long that jag has before Mr.Wolf gets tired of it's presence?
thanks rwellbaum for the video. This is originally something I was trying to do...I just don't know now. Is the risk worth the reward? How long have the pair lived together?
I measured my female Jag today and she is now 5 inches. only 2 or 2.5 smaller than the male Dovii I think. Her growth spurt may be due to that fact that she has had almost two weeks of no stress and a decent amount of food without being chased.
I had the jaguar with the dovii for probably 6 months never had a problem with them picking on each other what so ever, I would be perfectly comfortable puting the jag back in with my male dovii (if i took the female dovii out) your female is 2-2.5" smaller than your male dovii? that is good, not much of a size difference just have plenty of hiding spaces for your jaguar to hide from the dovii & they should be fine. some different sizes of PVC pipe & fittings work great for instant caves. sometimes it works out, sometimes it dosen't, just keep an eye on them.If I decide to reintroduce the jag back to the main tank are there any tips or tricks that may help?
Dovii CANNOT be housed with anything or he will tear them to shreds.
Mr. Ferguson, in your your 358g tank???
OP, plain in simple dovii are very nasty towards tank mates and even female partners! Assume this! If 1 ourt of every 20 might be ok for a little while but they can not be trusted. Even with a female to assume they have a strong bond automaticly is askin for trouble and females should always have refuge
