Dovii differences?

I think there is more difference between the females. I brought back a WC Dovii from Costa Rica and purchased a Nic Dovii from Rapps. No difference at all. My female from CR is more gold than the one from Nicaragua. Just my observation as I have both right now.

Any chance we could see a pic of each? I'm having a tough time making a decision here!

here is a thread on here a guy is selling a nice gold pair. Look for that thread, has a good photo.

My nic females are quite gold too though, my male is blue.

my CR golds. the female committed suicide. the male is a excellent dad. he's still raising the fry on his own. i think i need to separate him though because they have been nipping at his dorsal fin really bad.

Terrific shots Davey! Love the comparison of the Nic and CR.

Here's a frighteningly awful shot of one of my Nics (zoom of a phone pic; filthy acrylic, etc.). Wish I could get a decent shot of the male CR, but he's not cooperating in the big tank. The Nics are definitely more blue/green, and the CRs seem to have more yellow (especially the females).

nice shots and nice fish, but Im not too sure this would help show a difference. The whole CR Dovii pic is tinted yellow.
Although this is a common topic, I think the differnce is small. Now there is that new yellow Dovii from Heridia? or some thing. Not too colorful, but definitely no blues or greens. Bigger difference.

Is this the fish that stays in 18 inch pipe and sticks out on both ends?

nice agressive looking boy. I like how the head looks almost outsized for the body.
