I'm picking up a 12" male dovii on Friday and he'll be going into my 260 alone. I'm wondering how he would get on with tiny dithers, maybe a large shoal of Galaxy rasboras or the like? My thinking is that he obviously won't see them as a threat and that he might think it's not worth chasing those tiny fish for a meal.. Thoughts?

They eat pellet food smaller than the fish so yes, they will get eaten.
I don't know a great deal about Dovii but i've read and seen things which would suggest keep nothing else in that tank.
Even larger fish like dollars or tinfoil barbs may get killed.

Was asking because I've heard of people keeping neons etc with piranha with success but I guess I'll just have to get him a lady friend or he's swimming solo!

I think he will view them as breakfast, lunch, and dinner at some point. If he is not into live then I don't see him not pouncing on them. But anything is possible.

If you want dithers, your gonna want to go with maybe midas or something, anything not bitesized....witch isn't easy to find lol

I have a flowerhorn, silver dollars, tinfoil barbs etc in another tank but the flowerhorn is only 6" so wouldn't put up much of a fight.. Will keep him alone or find him a female. Problem is, this is the first dovii i've ever seen for sale in Scotland, any young ones i've ordered online have turned out to be jaguars so not sure i'll be able to find a female for him. Would he breed with a female jaguar? All of the babies would be feeders as I wouldn't sell or give away any cross breeds.
