juvie or maturing fish go through attitudes. esp cichlids. oscar freaking for no good reason a good example. your tank plenty big enough for large hides, stack of or 4ft peaces of drift, 3ft plastic bamboo breaking the tank up can all help.

and yes, this can alter there apatite,. they can go weeks with out eating much or any at all with out hurting them, then they will snap back to chowing again, only to go goofy again for a week or so.

No I have no filter on the drip. Been running this way for 6 months. Could that be the problem? Parameters otherwise are fine.
