I've had my young dovii for about 2 months and he is really starting to get an awesome personality. He isn't hiding or shy towards me anymore, and really enjoys our dog's company. He is around 6" in length and is in his own 135...there is a lot of empty space in the tank. He isn't destructive yet when it comes to hs decor, but he is completely intolerant of any other fish. Tried a female with him but had to get her out-he ripped up her find bit she's fine.
What are some good ways to entertain him? Toys? We also have tried chaser fish but it didn't work out. He demands attention with splashing and very easy to read body language.
First 3 pics were taken about 1 week ago and last picture is when I first got him.

yes that is normal, as long as they have hiding spaces and what not they should be ok in that size tank. It should it would be best if they actually paired up because then they will be bastards lol. How big are the cons?

Those Cons will die a slow brutal death to him over time if he is already chasing them. No need to add anything in there with him.Don't understand what you can be thinking of when you say what toys to add.

Is it normal for the dovii to constantly chase the convicts? Not if your a convict.
I know convicts are tough little cichlids but this situation is going to prove too much for them.
There is nothing normal about constant harassment. I would not like to observe this in any of my tanks.

I have dithers in most of my tanks and their fine for drawing out shy fish and making them feel more comfortable....when your show fish starts to harass them non stop, I agree with Stanzzzz7 & Smitty it's time to pull them.
