dovii growth rate

i bought a small dovii awile back and hes growing slow as molassus. i feed him good water is good and he looks good but just growing slow as hell. whos had dovii and has yours grew slow or is it just mine?
 
tank size?, when and at what size did you buy it?, what size is it now?, tankmates?

dovii are accually known to grow fast, most at 1" per month until 12"ish and than slow down until eventually 18-20"+
 
HOW OFTEN DO YOU DO WATER CHANGES, I NOTICED WITH MOST FISH I'VE EVER HAD, AND MY DOVII, THAT THEY GRO FASTER WHEN FEED 2-3 TIMES A DAY WITH WATER CHANGES EVERY WEEK AT 50%. THIS HAS HELP ME.
 
ya im right around 40-50 percent every 7-10 days. maybe hes just a oddball. its suppose to be a male and hes about 3.5-4 inches now. i take a pic if anyone wants to see it.
 
I have 3 dovii.. two grew like weeds while one is very small. The small one has grown about 1.5" in 4 months putting it at about 3". The other one i purchased at the same time and same size is currently around 4.5" thus growing about 3"+ during the same time frame. 50% WC two times a week and feed them Cichlid Gold and shrimp. I think the other one is definitely a female and just growing slower due to genetics.

this may be one large factor, when your dovii is a lower fish on the totem pole rather than the king of the tank, fish are known to grow slower under that factor.
