Where the Parachromis roam...
My Dovii's seem to be growing pretty quickly especially the babies, about a half inch in a month. My 3 incher even quicker,i have had him about a month got him at 2" he is at least 3" now.Have any of you Dovii owners noticed fast growth in your fish?My baby tank i do a quarter water change everyday and feed frozen Krill(soon to add frozen Brine Shrimp)any suggestions on different foods for the babies would be appreciated.I do 2 weekly water changes on my 125 gal tank of at least a quarter of the water,i feed the 3 incher raw shrimp and i know this sounds strange but he only accepts Koi sticks(he will not take any cichlid sticks)i am going to try earthworms soon.Share some of your growth experiences and maybe even add some pics(i always love to see pics of Dovii's)my camera is broken right now or i would have some pics of my own. Thanks Nick.C.:headbang2

Given the proper tank size, good diet, and water quality you should expect 3/4-1" a month till They hit 12" or so then it'll slow down a lil.

WOW!!!I knew they grew fast but damn:WHOA:,know anybody that wants some baby Dovii??

diet and maintenance sounds reasonable, theres not much i would change except maybe experimenting other foods in the diet but right now is fine

i have had the most luck with new life spectrum pellets. mine also eats frozen beef heart, blood worms, and frozen brine shrimp sparingly as a treat. they are very aggressive even at 2.5-3" so beware!

Would frozen Bloodworms be a waste??

i would say it is a waste. i'm sure you want to spoil your dovii with all types of good food, but in the end i don't think its worth it. keep it on a stable diet with pellets, and a treat like raw shrimp once or twice a week and you're all set...:headbang2

They have been only eating Frozen Krill,i was told that was good for them by the salesman did they lie??
