Dovii growth??....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
frozen krill isnt bad for them but they really should have a more balanced diet, just as with people only eating one type of food isnt the best, i would fast them for a day and then soak some pellets in the tank water with the krill and give them the pellets first, the more variety you feed them when they are young the better and the less picky they will be as adults, its much easier to get juvies onto pellets than it is grown adults who are set in their ways, but yeah try to get them on a cichlid pellet and then feed the other stuff as treats

they have doviis in CO, you just gotta look, i know there's gotta be some in aurora
Its true in some cities its really hard to find Dovii's(like mine)I got super lucky finding my 3" guy the LFS was going out of bussiness and needed all his fish gone so i got him pretty cheap. And my 12 babies were sold to me super cheap(12 for $10.00) because he thought they would die on me because they were so small.I truly love Dovii,be realistically i know i cant keep 13 Dovii. But the babies are "Costa Rica Gold" so i want to grow a couple out to see what they look like.:nilly:

I agree with the staple diet. If u feed frozen your Dovii will become spoiled and will start turning down pellets. Go With NLS or hikari, both are excellent foods. If you wanna bulk them add massivore from time to time. With blood worms there's still a slim chance. Of parasites but not usually and is ok to feed once in a while as treats and krill is excellent and will help bring out colors. But use in moderation:) I should have a couple of pairs available in a few weeks. Post some pics:)
