Would a solo dovii work or should i stick with a black nasty in a 125?

dovii will get to big in the long run so unless you plan on upgrading i would stick with the nasty

agreed....just get the nasty.

What about if I put him in a 180? I have an empty 180 that I was thinking about selling, because its too big for the house. I could probably keep it, but then the fish would be in the garage which kinda sucks.

nothing wrong with having a pair in a 180, just get a comfy chair and sit in the garage with them.

if i could put tanks in the garage, it would be full of them by now!

Instead of a pair can I put one with a Clown Knife? I'm not sure how these 2 would get along. I have another large tank with a clown and red devil in it atm.

it could work with a clown knife just watch it carefully and have lots of hiding places

My experience with dovii is they grow about 1.5 inches a month well at least mine has. One of the fastest growing fish I have kept besides Midas. Keep this in mind a 125 will work until he's about 14-15" then a 180 until he's maybe 20" but by the time he reaches 13" you would of had him for well over a year. By 16" it should take about a year and 6-8 months and then it's just stone dead stop in growth possibly 1/4"-1/2" a month.
