Dovii/Jag compatibility

i was thinking of getting a nice little Dovii that an lfs just got in, but was unsure of how well they get along with others. do you think a Dovii would be ok w/ my jaguar cichlid? the jag is around 7" and the dovii is around 6" right now. i know dovii get larger than the jags, but does anyone have this combo? if so...does it seem to be working ok? post some pics too!

i wouldn't risk it unless you have a very large tank. dovii are usually a lot more aggressive than jags. couple that with the much larger end size and you are looking for trouble, although it may work out just fine.

yeah, that can happen since they're in the same genus, lol. that's friggin' awesome.

If they're both males it could spell trouble. If you had a very large tank and had a few more large cichlids to balance out the aggression then I could see it working. Maybe.
My male is relentless in trying to kill everything in his tank (including the female).

and the most pressing question would be what is your tank size u will have these fish in ?

yes these species can and do cohab, as said before stay away from males, and get a larger aquarium 8x2'+.

yes both are of the parachromis genus and do breed, there was somebody in the breeding section who had a pair. multiple people accually. Ruck fules, somebody was selling there hybrids in buy/sell aswell.
