they should be ok =] I remember when I had my first Dovii with my Jaguar cichlid when it was young...they were both 3" and now my Jaguar is like doubled in that size in a couple of months....and as for the dovii I sold it was to someone who wanted to have his first Dovii to be put in his 240 gallon...and yes I did check if he really did have one...man im really missing him now...I may just get another one lol =] they only cost $5 for each and plus most of the exotic fishes in my LFS sell W/C and little less C/B...

hey guys, sorry for no reply.
i decided to go ahead and pick up the small (3-4 inch) dovii two weeks ago and things seem to be working very well. the dovii at the moment is about half the size of my jag and there is no aggression yet. they are in a temporary 55 gallon growout tank, but will be bumped up accordingly. i can try posting some pics when i get some decent ones. thanks for all the input.

any cichlid that has the same number of chromosomes can crossbreed. (p) + (P)
can also breed.
an example would be (p) parachromis and (P) Vieja the dominant (P) would be the mom

i had a female dovi for a bit till she got about 7inches and realized what she was then i had to get rid of her
