Dovii / Managuense hybrid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
As much as I hate to say, I'd love to see that matured. Looks female'ish to me by the pics. Guarantee it would be a looker ;)

This is definitely one of the coolest hybrids I've ever heard of

the basic sound of the hybrid of the 2 speices sounds really cool, but the look to me just looks like a female managuenese with some nice fin coloration and larger spoting( so just in general nothing ground breaking or out of this world to see) i would like to see a fully grown male of these hybrids in full breeding colors though. just personally i might purchase 1 male to do that.

I would buy it, on the picture to the right it looks like a female jag posted on male dovii fins with photoshop lol. Looks like a good amount of jag to me man, have you ever seen a 5-6 dovii? they are golden with bluish fins..and not that much spotting all over the body. heres mine

Buy them and destroy them so crap like then can't get out on the market. :(

It would be way to easy to then cross back one of these with a parental type and you'd end up with hybrids that would look like a pure species.

How do you know jags and dovii aren't hybrids themselves? why would it matter all that much?

Good Post. I was throwing up in my mouth every time I read someone wanting to "try it."

What are you talking about? The guy already bought Hybrid fish and bred them together? The Dovii and Jags weren't pure to begin with? That's why you shouldn't create hybrid species and sell them into the market. Read what Modest_Man wrote above, there are many reasons not to do it, but a simple one is what I believe you are saying. You can ruin the bloodline and then sell the fish which are unrecognizable as a hybrid back into the hobby.

Mabye I'm totally off here but...yeah that really just looks like a uniquely patterned manny to me.
