Let me get more pics without the bars. There is no freddy in this pond. Only thing introduced many years ago were jags dovii and loiselii. Hopefully the pics will show it but this guy has gold rust and blueish tint in color.
Oh and the loiseli is a female. Ive been looking for a male for her too. Oh and im gonna be puting a smaller version of this mystery monster on sale soon.

Another reminder why I never bought into the hybrid thing. Because you just do know what is what.

Couldn't agree more. I get a kick out of the hybrid mix masters imparting pearls of wisdom on the cichlid formula. How the heck COULD you know if there is more than one cichlid in the pond? LOL It's like fantasy football...only with cichlids.

Because its a private pond on a private fish farm. Like stated before the man only introduced those three species into that pond when he started years ago. So unless the cichlid fairy dropped in a freddy or any other fish into that pond then in this case its not hard to choose what the hybrid could be could it? Unlike a store bought hybrid who came in with all the regular cichlids and someone would be asking for an id and you really never really know. Then sure i agree hybrids are a pta because you never know. Example the latest petsmart kamfas and res texas. But i wasnt here to talk about your opinions on hybrids it was to confirm if this was a dovii or not and when everyone kept mentioning other species i said clearly there were only jags, loiselii and dovii in this pond, i COULD and DID know what was in the heck was in this pond.

I wasn't expressing any opinion on hybrids. I have no problem with them at all. I was just chiming in on the folks who invariably can identify the mix of cichlids at a glance. Post a photo of just about any fish with the title, Hybrid or not...and I guarantee you will get tossing out the cichlid cocktail.

This i can agree with. I believe you've proved this before how everyone was seeing all sorts of different hybrid mixes in a fish that was actually pure. People need to start saying what characteristics of the fish make them say one mix or another not just spew out names.
