Dovii or Peacock bass???

Yeah when I bought him and looking at the top pic he definitely looks male. But he has changed heaps and looks like a completely different fish when you look at both pics. I hope it is a male!!!

Yeah it does. And in the right light he has a lot of blue colour in the fins and has this deep blue/purple hue on the head and back.
 
Where do you live because in most cases a large tank brings a lot less than smaller ones in most places when second hand? What are the dimensions of your 150?
The PBass I have is a Kelberi a very colorful PBass. The Mono's are the spotted ones arn't they? They are not as common around here but still a huge fast fish. Any way what I am trying to say is I agree with what was said earlier keep both. Find a nice second hand monster tank the guy may be asking a lot but will soon find it is not an easy sell and you will get a good deal.

naa jags are smaller than dovii, I good size male jag tops about 16" , while a good male dovii tops 22 to 24" quite a size dif in relation to bio load and tank dimensions.

I hope you are right!! I have been waiting 4 long years to get a dovii and I have always wanted a nice male. I thought I picked a good male, but now that his spots have faded off it has me stressing

actually dovii's can reach around 30" i believe the largest found was around 28" or so but correct me if im wrong.
 
up to 28" in the wild, rare for that large raised in a tank.

yes but still a possibility and tells hobbyist just how big they can get.
