Dovii or red devil

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I hate when folks say nope tank size is fine. pretty much means why ask advice, you going to do as you will. that being said re home the Dovii tank to small and pickup the RD, even if you do not pick up the RD re home the dovii. full grown well kept dovii 20 to 24" for a male. no way you can tell me a 120g a big enough tank.

A single male in a 120...poor fish. I'd say a 220 is a minimum for a male dovii. With the limited space i'd agree with everyone else and pass on the red devil.

Few fish CAN hang w/ a Dovii, but Amphilophus are one of them IF you have a big enough tank.....150g is minimum for a Dovii, that 6 feet in length and the smallest 6 foot tank that still gives 24" for him to turn around. Just because they reach 24" doesn not mean a Dovii is done growing, however. If he is not housed properly he will jump out of his tank to attack you and anyone or anything that walks by him. Do NOT underestimate the Big Bad Wolf.

Yea I've know ppl to keep a single male In 75 gallon
not for long.....

I really wish Dovii weren't as easy to get for people.

Are you even serious? So you're suggesting a 24" fish can be comfortable in a tank that's 18" wide?
